How to generate and download PDFs
How to Download PDF
- Open your resume in the builder
- Review the preview to ensure everything looks correct
- Click the "Download PDF" button in the top toolbar
- Wait for the PDF to generate (usually takes a few seconds)
- The PDF will automatically download to your device
- The filename will be your resume title or "resume.pdf"
PDF Formatting Tips
- The PDF output matches the preview exactly - what you see is what you get
- PDFs are formatted for standard US Letter size (8.5" x 11")
- All fonts are embedded in the PDF for consistent viewing across devices
- Colors print accurately with our PDF-compatible color schemes
- Margins are optimized for both screen viewing and printing
Print Settings
When printing your PDF, we recommend:
- Use high-quality paper (at least 24 lb bond)
- Print at 100% scale (do not "fit to page")
- Use a color printer for best results with color schemes
- Print on standard US Letter size paper
- For professional applications, consider professional printing services
PDF File Size
PDF files are optimized for reasonable file sizes while maintaining high quality. Typical resume PDFs range from 100KB to 500KB, making them easy to email and upload to job application systems.
Troubleshooting PDF Downloads
If PDF download fails:
- Wait a few seconds and try again - PDF generation takes time
- Check your browser's download settings - downloads might be blocked
- Try a different browser if the issue persists
- Clear browser cache and cookies
- Make sure you have enough storage space on your device
